Compliance and Regulation Policy
Effective date: 14 October 2026 · AltView Global DWC-LLC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (operating under the brand AltView Insights).
AltView provides independent market intelligence and advisory services on commodity and shipping markets. This policy summarises the standards we follow to operate lawfully, ethically and independently. It supplements our Terms and Policies and Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are and what we do
AltView Global DWC-LLC is a company licensed by Dubai Aviation City Corporation (Dubai South), Dubai, UAE (licence no. 15308, registration no. 14171). We provide research, commentary and advisory services. We are not a licensed financial adviser, broker or investment firm. We do not manage assets, hold client funds, trade commodities or freight instruments, or charter or operate vessels.
No investment, legal or trading advice. Our services are for general information and internal business planning only. Please see our Terms and Policies for details.
2. Responsibility and review
The Managing Director is responsible for this policy and for compliance at AltView. All personnel and contractors are expected to follow it. We review the policy at least once a year, and whenever our business or the applicable rules change materially.
3. Independence and conflicts of interest
- Our views are our own. We do not accept payment or benefits in exchange for favourable coverage or conclusions.
- Personnel must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest before acting. We manage conflicts by disclosure, information barriers or by declining the work.
- Where we have a material commercial relationship that could reasonably affect how our work is perceived (for example, a data partnership or a referral arrangement), we disclose it to the clients or readers concerned.
- We act on a non-exclusive basis and may advise other industry participants, subject to our confidentiality obligations.
4. Anti-bribery and anti-corruption
We take a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption. We do not offer, give, request or accept bribes, facilitation payments or other improper advantages, directly or through third parties. Gifts and hospitality must be modest, infrequent, transparent and never intended to influence a decision. We comply with applicable anti-corruption laws, including the laws of the UAE and, where they apply to us, the UK Bribery Act 2010 and the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
5. Sanctions and trade controls
- We comply with the sanctions and trade-control laws that apply to us, including those of the United Nations, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Switzerland and the UAE.
- We screen prospective clients and key counterparties against applicable restricted-party lists before onboarding, and again when circumstances change.
- We do not provide services to, or receive payments from, sanctioned persons, or operate in or for comprehensively sanctioned territories.
- We may suspend or end a relationship, as set out in our Terms and Policies, where needed to comply with sanctions or trade-control laws. Our services are not a sanctions-screening or compliance tool.
6. Anti-money laundering and financial crime
We identify our clients before providing paid services, and we accept payment only from the contracting client by bank transfer. We do not accept cash. We will not knowingly be used for money laundering or the financing of terrorism, and we will report suspicious activity to the authorities where the law requires.
7. Confidentiality and non-public information
- Client information is confidential. It is shared only with personnel who need it to deliver the services, and it is not disclosed to, or used for the benefit of, another client.
- We do not seek, use or disclose material non-public information (MNPI). Our work relies on public sources, licensed data, our own analysis and information that clients choose to provide to us.
- If we become aware that we may have received MNPI, we stop using it, keep it confidential and take advice before proceeding.
8. Data protection and information security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including access controls and the careful handling of client materials. We process personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. Where required, we will notify affected clients of a security incident without undue delay.
9. Third-party data and intellectual property
We respect copyright and data licences. We use third-party data and indices only within the terms of the applicable licence, and we attribute sources clearly. Our own content may not be scraped or used to train artificial-intelligence models without our written consent (see Terms and Policies).
10. Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools as support for research and drafting. They do not replace our judgment: our named experts remain responsible for the analysis, conclusions and publications that carry the AltView name. We do not permit client confidential information to be used to train AI models.
11. Raising concerns and complaints
Clients, readers and personnel can raise any concern about our conduct, or make a complaint, by email to info@altviewinsights.com. We treat concerns confidentially, we do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, and we aim to acknowledge every message within five business days.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy by publishing a revised version on this page with a new effective date.
